I'm always delighted to be invited to any venue, school or library to talk to young readers. Just email me and I will reply within a couple of days. My publisher, Floris Books, have an excellent set of teachers' notes on both CHILL and SHIVER, giving ideas for lesson plans etc. Visit their website www.florisbooks.co.uk to downlaid copies. If your school wishes to study either CHILL or SHIVER, and follow this up with an author visit, please contact me and I would love to oblige. (Certain councils have a Library for Schools, from which class sets of either novel can be borrowed.)
I am LLS funded, part of the Live Literature Programme run by the Scottish Book Trust. You can find out about this by clicking on the link www.scottishbooktrust.co.uk. The Scottish Book Trust are a marvellous organisaton which encourages and enables young people to meet with authors, and to experience literature in new and exciting ways. However, even if your school has not applied to be part of the Live Literature Scheme, do please still get in touch with me for a visit. My aim is to inspire, educate and motivate young people to read and write. If I visit your school I will answer any questions pupils might have, offer writing tips, as well as a mind-mapping technique, and set the class a writing competition. The winner receives a free signed copy of CHILL and SHIVER.
If you want me to visit your school, library or other venue, simply email me at alex.nye1@btinternet.com.
